‘the Expedition Exhibition’ consists of paintings inspired by Mitchell’s work, as well as Eliza’s 2010 journey. Reproductions of maps and prints created by Mitchell himself will be included. The exhibition will be displayed in a variety of formats -including laminated print sets, mounted printed canvas sets and original works.

The Exhibition will be displayed in various townships along the journey through NSW and Victoria. The venues include libraries, schools, cafes, galleries, pubs, hotels and community halls.

To coincide with the exhibition, Eliza will be giving presentations. She will describe Mitchell’s journey, focusing on events specific to local areas. She will also talk about her own journey illustrated with projections of selected maps and journal entries by Mitchell as well as many of her images and artworks.

2011 Castlemaine State Festival:

Date: 1st to 10th April

Time: 10am to 6pm

Location: Imperial Hotel, 56 Lyttleton Street, Castlemaine, Victoria.

Boort                    - 2nd to 4th September

Castlemaine       – 23rd to 26th September

Casterton            - dates yet to be confirmed
